Marco Island brings the best of subtropical paradise around every corner whether you visit us in the summertime, or if your travels bring you at year’s end. Among the lush flora, breezy days and balmy nights of December on Marco Island, you’ll find a plethora of activities to spark your spirit and imagination for the holidays.
On Wednesdays throughout the month of December, join us from 7:30 am until 1 pm at Veteran’s Community Park for our Farmer’s Market. You can select from a variety of seasonal, fresh fruits and vegetables, and pick up some trinkets to take home for stocking stuffers. Local artists are on hand with unique jewelry and other delights to choose from. There is not a more unique place to snag holiday gifts on Marco Island!
Plan to stay a while, as each weekend in December brings memorable opportunities:
Saturday, December 3, 2016 ushers in the holidays with Marco’s Holiday Art Show at 10 a.m., followed by the Annual Tree Lighting Celebration, beginning at 6 pm at Veterans Community Park.
On December 10, 2016, you’ll want to start early to enjoy all the fun. Santa’s Workshop in Mackle Park runs from 9 a.m. until noon. Enjoy your afternoon island style, and then pick a spot along the Marco River for the Annual Marco Island Christmas Island Style Boat Parade beginning at 6 pm.
December 17th, the final weekend before Christmas, you can enjoy a morning with the big man himself as Santa stops by the Family Church on Winterberry Road to enjoy milk and cookies with everyone from 9:45 a.m. until noon, before venturing back to the North Pole to ready the reindeer. That evening, the holiday spirit fills the island with Marco Island’s Annual Holiday Street Parade beginning at 6:30 p.m.
There’s a lot happening in our bit of paradise! We look forward to seeing you soon and celebrating the holiday season in our very own tropical winter wonderland!
